Here is how I currently organize my day.
First of all, I block chunks of time for mandatory stuff - I keep meetings and other obligations to a minimum. What needs to be done will get done.
Then - and it's the baseline of the system - I consolidate with all emotional states I usually go through the day, and all activities that I enjoy doing and/or that feel productive for me at the moment. So that I either get a reward from feeling productive, from enjoyment or both at the same time.
During the day, I frequently ask myself what emotional state I'm in. I also try to be aware of when my emotional state changes.
And I simply switch activity according to my table, picking a new one that matches.
I also have some filters such as if a screen is required or not, if the activity is kid-friendly and so on. So that I can adapt my activity to specific time of days and/or environments.
