MOC: [[Learning How To Learn]]
***
We can learn a lot by studying history and looking at patterns repeating themselves. For industry, we can look at how America got electrified, at Fordism and so on.
Another example of pattern repetition is the Covid pandemy. To some extent, we can compare it to the Black Death. While Black Death spreaded through commercial routes, Covid spreaded through traveling (obviously faster due to technological advancement).
During Black Death period, Jews were living in small communities. Thus, they didn't catch the sickness that much and folks started to think they were the one spreading the virus, leading to persecution of Jews. The pattern repeated itself during Covid, as Asian people were often persecuted (once again to some extent).
This examples shows that learning patterns from history books and/or biography holds a lot of value today. It's also an interesting approach to some subjects taught in school, that are usually quite difficult to connect to real-world examples.
