MOC: [[Art of Writing]] *** I encountered recently in **Illuminations** from [[Alan Moore]] some beautiful metaphors. He notably uses a divine-like characters using metaphors with everyday language to paint vivid pictures to his fellow interlocutors, mere humans. Metaphors are overall very impactful to me. It helps me imagine and visualize what the author is trying to describe. In the [[Writing lifecycle]] I mention that learning how to say things with your own words is valuable for a writer, which is a kind of remodeling close to metaphor. => [[Becoming a better writer]] I could employ metaphor as an exercise. Eg. transposing one concept into another, describing something with metaphors only, or as Alan Moore having characters deliberately using metaphors to describe their perception of the world. => Metaphors are a way to create bridges and rich connections that make your story memorable, cf. [[Memory and the brain]]
