MOC: [[System Thinking]]
From [[Michael Simmons]] Mental Model Club
***
A feedback loop occurs when the output of a system is then fueling it as an input. There are two types of feedback loop:
- Balancing (or negative) feedback loops, where its goal is to keep the system at a defined state (eg. a thermostat)
- Reinforcing (or positive) feedback loops, where the mechanism supports the system growth (eg. [[Compound Interests]], cancer spreading and so on)
To make a system predictable and effective, you need to implement feedback loops.
