MOC: [[Reframing Society]] *** Most of the Western civilization lives in democracy (at least it's the case in France). But the people don't really get to choose anything except who will be their President for several years in a row. There is also the model of some Northern countries, where everyone gets more occasions to express their opinions. And several other ideas to add more granularity to election, for instance giving power to political parties in alignement with % of votes, or ranking each candidate instead of just picking one when voting. My question about this is that, are people (including myself) able to formulate a comprehensive overview of the political landscape for themselves? I feel like media has a massive influence over us in this regard. Some people will be asked to vote but are not interested, or don't have an intelligent and constructive point of view. Some people are just not fit for this kind of impact. It's hard to quantify, but if say only 20% of the people have the mean to form a constructive view before voting, then the whole system is nuts. => [[Availability Bias]] => [[Confirmation bias]] => [[Feature-positive effect]] => [[Decentralization as political action]]
