Capitalism is fueled by a strong feedback loop: money.
When we spend money on poor ethical products (or experiences and so on) we allow companies and people to create more and more of them. On the other hand, making the extra effort of researching ethical products, we give their producers the mean to expand and gain more market share.
Money being at the core of most societal systems, how we spend money at global scale is one of the biggest leverage to change the world.
